TODAY i,

Cleaned everything but myself.

I dusted and polished my desk, bureau, and bedposts, I vacuumed, I organized, I made my entire bedroom spotless, immaculate, spiffy, etc., and as geeky as this may sound, I loved every minute of it. I contently listened to music while I cleared away the dust and grime my room had gathered over months of time avoiding a swipe of the dust rag, or the roar of the vacuum. Today was the first day out of my entire vacation that I woke up in the morning. My room was probably the messiest it's been, and it's weird how the 'status' of this space played off of what, and how I did in school, with friends, interacted with family, that sort of thing. The messier it got, the more disorganized I became. And now, with a clean room, smelling of Lemon Pledge and Windex, I think I'm ready to go back to school. In addition to all this cleaning business, I didn't take a shower today.
-10 pts.
I also watched a movie that I stumbled upon on tv this morning; The Mermaid Chair. The start of the movie took place underwater, and the silhouttes of mermaids swimming about jumped on and off the screen; this was enough to hold my attention. The plot was a bit overrated, seeing as how Jesse's mother chopped her fingers off, and Jesse(Kim Basinger btw) had this really hot love affair with Brother Thomas, a monk at the monastery where her mother worked. I admit I continued to watch it because I was just waiting for it to get good, and surprisingly it did, so I guess you could say it was worth it. I just wish Jesse stayed with the monk in the end, their relationship was getting so steamy!

My mom told me that she almost named me Jesse, after my great-grandmother.
Uhh, I have a headless cat.

That's killer, dude!

Yesterday I watched a full two hours of "THS Investigates: Inside the Mind of a Serial Killer" on E!'s True Hollywood Story programs. It had to be one of the most entertaining shows I've come across on television in a while, man. I turned the tv on a little past 2:30 to find some story on kidnapping, and I was surprisingly intrigued. As if that wasn't enough to grab my attention, this serial killer business came on soon after, and it was absolutely stunning to watch. I'm not one to be into that whole CSI/FBI/Investigation shit, no, that's Ryan. But now I understand why Ryan loves to watch all those cop shows and criminal mysteries; they're the toughest to stray away from.

People love American Idol, or Dancing With the Stars because those are the types of series that you just have to wait out til the end to see who wins, who takes home the trophy, whose 'the biggest loser', etc. And yeah, I would know, I was once an addict. But this serial killer episode? Genius. Once I started watching, I couldn't stop. It wasn't that I had to find out how many people BTK killed, or I needed to see that never-before-seen clip of Jeffrey Dahmer in court, it was just intrigue. That's all. To me, it was completely mindboggling, the tactics of these killers, the methods they performed to kill, their reasoning---they had none! It was too interesting to let up, I was too involved within the first few minutes to switch the channel to spongebob or Judge Alex. It was as if I was in disbelief somehow, for the second a commercial was running, I was up and moving to occupy myself. Get a cookie, take a pee, read the obituaries. And if after all that a commercial was still on, I'd pace. Back and forth, back and forth, just staring at the television screen advertising Yaz birth control pills. It was insane! I went as far as thinking through that it'd take too long for me to run to my room and find a hoodie, but lesser time to run to the brothers' room to snatch that fleece blanket Sean got in Boston. And I did.

My mom came home from the grocery store, inquiring if I was sick, why do I have that blanket, is everything alright, and why am I watching a show on cannabalism. And I told her I was too lazy to throw on a longsleeve shirt or sweater, everything's okay, I'd been watching the show since she left, and I spilled fudgeswirl icecream on my gym shirt, it needs to be washed for Friday. She sighed, said whatever, and sat down to watch the Ed Gein part of the show with me. I hate to admit it, but this was my favorite part of the whole program. I found Gein to be the most marvelous, dastardly serial killer of them all. Even after they said Jeffrey Dahmer had stuffed human heads in his fridge, I thought nothing could top that, until they showed Gein.

Gein had a messed up childhood, like almost all other serial killers experienced, with his father's death in 1940 and his mother's, five years later. They had said that his mother despised women, didn't want her son interacting with women, the image of the devil, and after she died, Ed Gein fufilled her 'wish'. He went to a nearby cemetery, and dug up many, several fresh graves of middle-aged women whom he thought would resemble his mother, and did terrible 'things' to their corpses. These things included using human skin to create lampshades, socks, and seat upholstery, skullcaps used as soup bowls, belts made from nipples, a windowshade made of lips. ?!!?!?!!?!

This guy was beyond nuts. Some thought him a transvestite, others claimed he just wanted to be like his mother, seeing as he made 'mammary vests' and masks out of the skin of these women that he wore often. And above all this, I thought he was cute. He was one of those guys that you could just tell were handsome when they were young. If there's some old actor or musician on tv, and my mom says, "Oh, he was so cute in his younger days," I can never see the cute in 'em. But there was something about this Ed Gein that I saw the cute in, even without my mom telling me so.
So over all the show was fantastic. I don't really know why I blogged about it, but oh well. Today we had a snow day, I pretty much wasted it. But I watched another addicting show, Vh1's Rockdoc on air guitar. That was something else entirely. But I watched the whole thing, very sedative actually. I thought it dumb at first, but after awhile it had a steady hold on my attention. C Diddy was my fav, no doubt!

I'm going to do homework. Maybe have some dinner in a few hours.

Love from this crazy chick who thinks serial killers are cute,
elise.

NYC

The shimmer of Time Square. Quite literally, actually.
I went to New York with the whole family last month, and here are a few of my favorite sights:

Ants.

Our insane tour guide. He had the most wavering, eccentric, and LOUD voice I've ever heard. He loved to use his hands, and showed us just about everything you need to see in New York City. GOD BLESS HIM!

This small child joined me in standing with a crowd of people around Rockefeller Plaza. She was just so adorable, I couldn't restrain myself. Way cute hair, no?

And last but not least..

Need I say more?

I wish I was in kindergarten.

Today we visited our Little Buddies during Social Studies period. This is the first time we've seen them since before break, so they were of the most exuberance that we arrived JUST for them. When Mr. B. stuck his head in the kindergarten doorway, all of the kids squealed with joy.
"BIGGGGGG BUDDIESSSSS!"
One boy actually cried, he was so excited. I guess they live for this sort of thing.
We had to help them write a sentence on how they're going to stay safe this year. Amber and I 'share' Juliette, so we both helped her spell various words (actually all of it) that she couldn't spell. She's mentioned to me before that she enjoys coloring, so when we first arrived in the classroom, she pointed to a messy marker drawing of a Christmas tree in front of her, saying she made this for the both of us. After we oohed and ahhed and gave her our thanks, we helped her spell and watched her draw a picture of herself wearing a sparkly helmet, riding her brand new bicycle.
I looked at the drawing she made for us, and saw that she had hand-written something on the back. It went a little like this:

I love You U Yo-Yo Ye anD MRS. M2 OSKal You to

I asked her to read it for us, and as I watched her blush madly, I heard her utter, "MRS. MOSKAL WROTE IT." And I figured she was embarrassed she wrote she loved us on it. That, or she couldn't remember what she wrote. So I spent the rest of the period trying to decipher what she meant by these scrambled words. I mean, all the S's were backwards, and she wrote 'MRS. M2 OSKal' vertically, so another 5 year old's interpretation of this would've been helpful, but all were 'occupied'. There's also four oval shaped hearts on it, the kind like I used to make when I was her age, all rounded and misshapen. Then, drawn horizontally, as if it were lying down, is a very tall girl with rectangle arms and long blonde hair that curls at the ends. I asked Juliette who it was, and she said it was me. I laughed lightheartedly, and said thank-you once more as our class left their room.

I really wish I was in kindergarten. Everything semmed to be so laid-back and simple. Back then, the biggest worry any of us could have was the fear of peeing your pants or losing in an intense game of tic-tac-toe. This, or having the smelly kid who eats glue and his boogers at the same time have a crush on you. That was the WORST, because boys had cooties. (Even though we all had crushes on Matt O'Neil. ;] )
The most distinct memories I have from being in kindergarten are so vivid, it's tripping. (?!) I mean, I remember Alice Kim making me a beaded dragon keychain at reccess one day that I kept on my backpack for the next 5 years. I remember Daniel Lynch falling asleep on the mat next to me during nap time, and everyone giggled infectiously as the troublemakers tried puting crayons in his ears while he snored. I remember Marissa, the hyper compulsive maniac who I saw in karate class weeks after we met. I remember Aubree, the girl who had the hair I always wanted, winning the Nicest Person of the Month Award three months in a row.
Above all of these things, what I remember most was this boy named Nick, whose last name escapes me, who had a major crush on me. We were required to have a Bathroom Buddy whenever we had to go to the bathroom, so when one person had to use the potty, the teacher had to find another to walk with them.
One particular day though, I drank all of the supersize apple juicebox I had with my snack, so I had to pee extremely bad. I asked Mrs. Murphy to go to the bathroom, and Nick, who I never really paid attention to, was my bathroom buddy. As we walked down the hall, passing Mrs. Pool's classroom, Nick turned to me, with his blue bathroom pass in hand and said,
"I had a dream about you last night."
I especially remember staring at him funny, as I moved a little farther away from him and asked, "What did you say?"
"We got married. We lived happily ever after. It was the bestest dream I've ever had."
I remember turning red, as he tried to hold my hand and I squirmed away. Then, the punchline:
"Bestest dream ever? Nick! That's no dream, that's a nightmare."

Even THEN i knew I was a monster. XD
