fuckitall

I've watched both documentaries, listened to all microcassettes, been through every link on this site. I suggest you do the same, if you please. Well, when you have time, that is. Especially for the documentaries. Safety Third and Nobody Dies When It's Sunny.
It's worth it. Links at the top, you'll find it.

It's not a good thing.

Tonight is just one of those nights where you actually want to fall asleep while watching a good movie.

sea creatures.

02/15/09

My dad woke me up this morning saying I had to go to school
and I laughed and told him he was a 'fibber' and he laughed and
told me 'no seriously, get up and get ready, we're going somewhere.'
So I got ready like it was a school day and made myself a cup of tea
and an egg sandwich on toast for Sean and my dad came upstairs
saying, "Oh my god. The Air Force 1 was shot down and I think
the president was there. I think the president's dead." With this real
real serious look on his face, jaw clenched and all.
I yelled out a horrific 'WHAT' and started to cry.
My mom and dad chuckled both and told me to stop.
Puzzled, I asked them a questioning 'what', as to why they
were laughing during a time like this,
and my mom said my dad was talking about
'his show', being, 24, since he rented season 1
from the library last week or something.
I was not happy about that, he really scared me. Bad.

Anyway. We ended up going to Boston just 'cause.
I really like that we went unplanned.
It seemed a lot more fun, a lot more adventurous.
We picked up Wilma on the way. The car ride
was only about an hour and a half. Not bad at all.
Ryan called us while we were driving, telling us
to take the T, but we we're just about there, so we passed.
We ended up going to the Boston Aquarium, to which I had
never gone, since that tragic day in third grade
when my whole class went on a field trip there,
and I couldn't go, because I got a terrible nosebleed last minute.
You remember. I think I blogged about it once. o.O

I really enjoyed myself. A whole lot.
I've come to take a strong liking to jellyfish. A real strong liking, I must say.
Their graceful movements yet deadly abilities intrigue me so.
Just their appearance in general fascinates me.
OH! Wanna hear something really weird?
I saw Mrs. Lund there.
At the Boston Aquarium. In Boston.
I couldn't get over that. She approached Sean and I first
exclaiming about what a surprise it was to see us,
how much I've grown up since she's seen me last, etc.
I didn't really know what to say.
She didn't talk long, just wished us a 'happy trip' and went off
probably to look at some more fish and sea animals. Heh.

I took lots of pictures and played with some starfish
and talked with a boy from Britain about the 'coolness'
of eels. (EELZ!) I talked to Kenny the penguin feeder
about peguins and watched him, y'know,
feed some peguins and stuff.
Some man in pink pastel shorts
kept speaking to me in French,
which reminded me of that time
I went to the Caribbean and this
beautiful french girl kept speaking to me in French
while we were on the snorkeling boat
and started to cry when she learned I didn't speak French.
I remember feeling so sorry. And helpless.

ANYWAY.
I also went to my first IMAX show, if that's what you call it.
It was called Under the Sea, and was just that.
Narrarated by Jim Carrey, of course.
Okay. Maybe it wasn't my first time to the IMAX technically
because there was also that one time in Disney World
where we went to some 3-D movie that was also a ride,
and giant rats with beady red eyes plunged out at me
and you could feel rough fur graze the back of your calves
and I was not having it, so I ran out of the theater,
all nine years of me.
Why do I keep going back to memories of my past vacations?

Well. We left around, I don't know, 6? Because my dad wanted
to be home to make it to the radio station,
and my mom, Sean, my grandma and I
all went out to Olive Garden
which was overly crowded like always,
and I ate too many breadsticks and not enough of my meal.
I always do that when we go out to Olive Garden.
And now I'm home.
It was a good day.

Last night I watched
WALL-E.
And I must say.
I have never had a favorite movie before.
But I do now.
This will be
the first movie
I'll buy on DVD
in a long while.
Take back everything
I ever said here about
wanting you to see
any other movie
I've watched
then recommended to you.
I'm going the whole nine yards
to say that you have not lived
until you've seen this movie.
So.
Just.
Watch it. Do it. Now. Say yes. Now. Do it. Say yes. Now.

Five brownie points
if you can figure out
who I was just being
with those repetitive
demands there.
Have a brilliant night.

Andrew Bird

I really wish the sound of the violin didn't worry me so much. I know I'd enjoy it better if it didn't.

A Separate Peace

All I have to say about that horrendous book
is that there is one phrase I'll never forget in there,
a phrase that could've been said by anyone
or written anywhere and it still would've had
the same impact on me:

Sarcasm is the protest of the weak.

Yo, TRUE?
PS. Everyone go write 'Happy Birthday Brianna' in latin on Mr. Monson's chalkboard, start a conversation with him about how to spell your first name, let him butcher it, giggle/blush.
Repeat.

02/07/09

I went to a Falcon's game tonight.
Mia came with us.
I felt almost claustrophobic
in the seats assigned to us
by our tickets,
being in the top row
at the highest height
next white brick
and surrounded
by so many
raging
enthusiastic
hockey fans.
Mia and I left
my parents and my uncle
for some empty seats
around section three,
which turned out to be awesome
since we were in the section
reserved for 'the enemy'.
I'm not even kidding
about it being awesome.
We had this really entertaining
college kid behind us
who was drunk out of his mind.
He just
didn't
care.
I'm too lazy and wiped
to describe to you
how big of a dick this guy was.
Here were some of his favorite phrases,
I guess:
"C'MON BABY, YEAH BABY,
YOU GOT IT, YEAAAH BABY!"
"YABBA DABBA DOOOO! YEAAAH BABY,
YEAAH!"
"LET'S GO WOLFPACK!"
"FUCKING DEFEND, C'MON!
IF I WERE A DEFENDER, WHICH I AM,
I WOULD DEFINITELY BE DEFENDING RIGHT NOW."
"GET IT IN THERE, C'MON BABE, YEAH!"
"LET'S GO WOLFPACK!"
"FALCON'S SUCK, SPRINGFIELD SUCKS,
SPRINGFIELD FAMILIES SUCK!"
"YEAH BRODY, I LIKE THAT, I LIKE THAT!"
"LET'S GO WOLFPACK!"
"YEAAAH, I LOVE IT! I DEFEND ALLLL DAY!"
(after being talked to about calming down
by two security guards) :
"WHO TOLD ON ME, HUH? WHO TOLD ON ME?"
"WHAT PERSON FROM SPRINGFIELD TOLD ON ME?"

He was a complete and utter scumbum asshole.
I liked him. Mia and I had a lot to laugh about.

Wolfpack won 3-2, if you care.
I really didn't, to be honest with you.
I went up to a black man who worked at the arena
and danced terribly well to every song that played
and asked him if I could hug him.
In response he looked very puzzled
and asked me how he knew me.
Mia told him we probably danced with him before,
and he said,
"OHHH YEAH, I REMEMBER YOU!
Whass yo name again?"
And I said my name and he said,
"Yeeeeah! I remember you now, das right.
So, how are you?"
and I said good and asked
if I could still have that hug
and he shrugged a little
and gave me a nice hug
and then we left.
We've never danced with him before.

I drank soda for the first time in a month,
saw a boy I met at a party once
and a boy who used to tell me to
"Smell it!" when he mooned me
on a regular basis,
and had a swell time.

I went to a liquidation sale
downtown with my dad and
mr. major this morning and bought
a funny looking hat for five bucks.
I also watched the movie
What Dreams May Come
and enjoyed it
more than thoroughly.
YOU HAVE TO SEE IT.

I'm going to go to bed now,
goooodnight.

This weekend

was extensive.
I spent every day with my family from Montreal.
We went to a bar Friday night and
my dad got 'bloody drunk'
and it was hilarious.
Saturday we talked 'uh-merry-kin' politics
and played cards til well into the morning
and celebrated my grandma's birthday
today. I also watched a +40 minute podcast video thing
of a session Bloc Party did not too long ago
this morning.
It was pleasant.
I just finished my math time line
and it didn't come out too bad.
I'm heading off to bed now,
that's a photo of a glass
my uncle's had for years.
Sleep well!
