mid-summer

Wow okay, yes hi hello. It's been quite a bit of time, hasn't it? Hm. Well this past week in particular wasn't my best, so I apologize for the lack of posts here. I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things; here, and with everything else that's been happ'nin in my life.

Fourth of July was fantastic up until night's end. Downtown was cleaned up a bit, the air wasn't too chilly, and the fireworks were surprisingly impressive. I was with family only, since Mia was in Vermont and Kara was having a family party. On the car ride home, stuck in traffic, my mom pointed out a fight in front of some pizza joint to our left. A man in red was beating the living shit out of a lanky guy with corn rows, and even went so far as to pummel him with some sort of metal bar he got from his hummer. Between our bumper and the car behind us a shrieking girl took a blow to the cheek from what I assume was her boyfriend. My dad beeped the carhorn and my uncle jumped out of the passenger to grab the attention of the police. It was horrifying, there were puddles of blood on the sidewalk and everything. Absolutely terrifying, the crowd surrounding them took note yet no action, and the cops shrugged their shoulders with a "Nothing we can do," according to my uncle. Other than that my night was enjoyable! We also had cake for Ryan, opened cards, that whole thing. He's 20 now.

I hung out with Mia just about every day this past week. We found things to do and made things to do and it was eventful nonetheless. Yesterday Sydney and Vicky were walking by and so Mia and I chilled with them for just about the rest of the day. It was real nice, I ate some cheese doodles and bought a green tea.

I haven't been running either. The rain put me out for a good four days straight, and somewhere within that time my motivation vanished. This past week I wept myself out of a good two days due to how shitty I feel the morning after a cry(multiple cries), and the rest of the week can be blamed on lack of sleep, for I would've been dreaming by 3 and rising by 6. Excuses, excuses, excuses. I start anew tomorrow, haha.

Today I changed all the albums I have on my ipod, literally went tanning in my backyard for about an hour, cut my bangs, ate a peach (see above!) and watched a few episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia via hulu. There are birds making a nest in my window and turkey babies chizzin' beneath my trampoline right now.

I found some really weird/cute/awesome tights online today:

Some french designer named Marion Dubois has this new collection of leggings with prints on them, like these laughing mouths, and the fashion site I stumbleupon'd noted them as controversial yet alluring or some shit like that. I don't know, I kind of really like them. She has other ones that are made to look like bugs are crawling up your calves, or ones that create the illusion of undesirable veins, which, I don't think are half as appealing as the pair pictured above to be honest.

I don't mean to cut this short, because I did have more to say but my parents want me to go watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with them right about now, so until next time

06/29/09

Hi! I have had a fantastic morning. I babysat Kara's cousins with her last night and we ordered a pizza and started to watch balls of fury around 11, Kara fell asleep on me. I went home at 12 and stayed up til 2, Mia showed me the greatest video ever, I laffed so gud. I actually showed it to my mom a few hours ago, after introducing her to beenerkeekee and edarem, my god. She loved it. I woke up at 6 this morning and argued with my dad and went running for 40 minutes 'round the hood. My dad followed suit on bike. It felt so invigorating, my stomach hurt baaa-ha-ha-had. I've got some mad blisterys though, not happy with those. I came home and drank some water, took a shower and almost threw up, twice. My body's not used to this at all, haha. My dad says he's going to bike with me every morning, he's happy that I'm 'pushing him to get exercise now', lolol.

I played with Pebbles once out of the shower and dressed, then went in the kitchen to find Sean and Kevin staring at the stove with a carton of eggs on the counter. I asked them what they were doing and they said making breakfast, but didn't know how. I took charge then, and made a feast of a breakfast for them and Wesley, my mom and Ryan and myself a'course. Eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, hashbrowns, sliced apples, etc. and so forth. I put out the muffins, a dish of strawberries and blueberries, made some tea, poured some juicez.. It was great! I really felt good, my mom was so happy. Quite the ambitious morning, I must say.

Okay, you cannot deny the cuteness this little girl possesses.

So adorable, right? That would be Gordy's daughter, Gordon Moakes of Bloc Party, for you. Yeah I know, I'm a huge faggot for mentioning this but I just can't help myself. Thought I'd share that with you, omgsocute. Also! You should probably catch the video for their latest single riiiight here:

http://www.mtv.co.uk/artists/bloc-party/video/one-more-chance

I'm pretty sure it's my favorite video of theirs. Gotta love a good music video.

Also, Mia told me she's going to write a short story everyday like how Im running every day. Exercising her brain, she said. That got me thinking, and I've decided that I'm going to draw a picture every day for the rest of the summer, along with my running plan. Gotta rid of that 240 pack of index cards I never used somehow, right? I already did today's, a quick little doodle of an angry bald man with some thick eyebrows. Heheh.

Alright, Zack's coming over sometime after lunch, so I should probably clean up a bit. I hope you have a wonderful day pleaseee

I streamed Bloc Party's latest single on Radio 1 earlier. I've never done anything like that before, it was weird how excited it got me. I'm not really sure what to think of it yet, I've been listening to it on my homepage for the past ten minutes.. It's definitely dancefloor material, I just can't decide whether I'll enjoy their upcoming album if all of it's based on this type of stuff or not. Either way I'm looking forward to it. Bloc Party's always changing their sound, but they never disappoint. I wonder what that top secret project Kele's working on is all about. Hm hm hmm.

Yes so, today I took my last final, algebra. Failed it, I know. I walked home around 10 in the rain and it felt pretty nice. Refreshing, as Quoc would say. Tomorrow we have mass and twenty minute classes and then the year's all over with. Woo.

I'm already preparing for my 'summer fitness', if you will. I'm running every day, didn't I tell you? I've decided I'm going out for soccer again next year. Stelzer has no problem reminding me every morning to get in shape for next season. Isn't he polite? I just need some more practical shorts and I'll be aaaall set. Yep yep.

This past Sunday I went to New Haven and watched Sean play in a Gaelic football game, which is a sport I've never seen before. It's a lot like soccer, but you can use your hands but it's not rugby. I don't know, it was so strange and interesting. I really liked it, Sean's team lost. And yesterday I went out to lunch with Zack at Panda South, which was awesome. Yesterday was just a good gooood day.

I think I'm going to go watch the second Rocky movie free on demand.

Look at me, I'm all nose!

This is my last full week of school

We started Romeo and Juliet in english class yesterday. To me, this pretty much sums up everything that is Harty, and the methods she has for teaching english. She doesn't even have a grade book. Remember when some student put acid in her coffee? Me either. And did anyone else notice that we were allowed to have scissors in her class to make our portfolio covers? She had a stash of them, safety ones with blue and hot pink handles in the cabinet by my desk. Whatever happened to the agreement she had with the school about the restriction of scissors in her classroom? I never heard anything about the kid she tried to stab. I don't even blow my nose in her class, let alone school. I wonder if she'll still think blowing your nose during her class is rude and disrepectful next year. I'm curious to see what the incoming freshmen will think, shooting their snot in the hallway. And why does she have so many cans of soda in her desk? We're not even allowed any type of food or beverage during school after the pot brownies incident.

So miscellaneous, all of these stories about her. I guess it fits though. She's like the fucking definition of miscellaneous. I'll get you an autograph.

I love watching terrible tv with my mom.
She thinks Wipeout is the funniest thing.
What a poor sense of humor, haha.
I can't help but laugh.

I've been listening to
Explosions in the Sky
more Beatles, more Elliott
I'm just loving everything lately.

School's been a drag, but when is it not?
I have my Personal Narrative due for Harty
tomorrow and I'm not stressing over it weirdly
I probably will be in a few minutes though.

I made a really goofy drawing
in the library today,
over a photo of Obama
and his high school basketball team
and looked up photos of the Dalai Lama
before the bell rang and my mom picked me up.
I walked home from school all last week.

I've also been texting
so much lately
but with good reason,
if that's possible
:]

My dad put the heat on
in the house today too
which I thought was rather strange.
