03/18/09

I went to wash my bottom retainer under some water a little after six this morning and nothing happened. My dad said something was wrong with the water pressure, take a quick shower. I did. School was closed due to a water break in our city and two other cities. I put my hair in a french braid and went back to sleep. I woke up to a call from Mia around 12. I made a turkey sandwich, watched Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory with Sean, threw on some brown pants and a pullover hoodie and headed out on my bike. I got some air for my tires and a workout for my legs. Shit's terrible to ride with no air. We biked to the library which was closed and then to Panera which was not. I got a strawberry smoothie which was awesome, and some smiles out of the spanish boy behind the counter, non-intentionally of course. But still awesome. BT chilled in the corner by the fire, chattin' it up with a friend. Mariah walked in not too long after we got there, she was lookin' keeeyoot. After that we chilled for a bit in stop and shop and iparty. We visited Mike at gamestop and 'Sally' at sally's beauty supply. I found the glasses I want at ken's eyewear, and Mia bought a chocolate bunny at the dollar store. It tasted like paste. We biked back and encountered a group of giggly girls with popcorn gathered around a tree in front of Mia's house and approached them. The password to their 'party' was JBTP, which I guessed to be Jonas Brothers T-Pain, but was actually Jonas Brothers Titanic Pirates. Kind of a let down, I was hoping for something a bit more eccentric. Either way, we kind of stood there watching them and listened to them talk about the Jonas Brothers. Dominique and Anne punched each other a lot. Mia and I went in then, sat in her kitchen and talked for a bit. We smashed some apples in her driveway and made conversation with her mom while she made dinner. Outside later, Dominique and Anne came riding by and I invited them into Mia's driveway, claiming Hillary (Mia) was a robot, and that her waste product (smashed apples) were spewed everywhere. We talked with them about the hot boys in their grade (5th grade) and Dominique showed us her ingrown toenail. It was oozing. Anne told me my shoes looked like nurses shoes. They were my green/blue/purple Ked-like sneaks that I got from Savers. Anyway. They claimed us their new BFFs, and biked off. It was quarter of six by then, and I biked home for some dinner. I told my mom of all my adventures and made some toast to have with our pasta. She told me 'my show' was on tonight, and it is in like five minutes. Last night omgitslukky mentioned me in one of his videos on youtube and I shit myself. I made a video response, but I guess he didn't approve it or something since it's not showing up as a response. I've gotten personal messages left and right asking me who I'm proposing to, hahaha. I'm listening to Holy Fuck and it's weirdly calming music to listen to while blogging. So, I'm going to go make some tea and watch Lie to Me and relax. What did you do today?

03/14/09

I downloaded Audacity a while back to use for video editing and effects and stuff but never really got around to learning how to use it. So last night I was talking to my dad about his work at the radio station, and I told him I'm going to start messing around with audio editors and the like, online, just for fun. He recommended me some softwares, and today I realized ol' Audacity here has been gathering e-dust on my desktop for quite some time so I looked up how to use it and have been testing shit out all day. I'm pretty excited. There's several pages in this one notebook I have filled with various song titles and descriptions of them, how well they could go together with other songs, what layers to combine or take away,
that kind of stuff. Song mash ups are what I plan to do.
And if I ever make anything worth listening to
I'll post it somewhere so you can hears!

I've finally started working on my Wreck this Journal
and have even taken some pictures for that flickr account
I said I'd make, which I did make, but I'll reveal it to you
once I've got some interesting stuff to look at up there.
I promised myself to do an assignment a night
every night last week, and I did!
Probably the first promise I've made
to myself in a while that I've actually kept.

I had never been to an optometrist before until yesterday.
Sean and I both had appointments, right after school.
Our optometrist is a family friend though
so I've met him before, he's a real character,
the type of guy that you want a book to be written about.
Not even a book of his life story, just him in general.
His appearance and mannerisms, rather. Anyway.
I really liked getting my eyes tested, it was good fun.
I was so curious of the machines he used, and I was
comfortable enough with him to ask questions so I did.
I'm far-sighted and need full time glassies. But
I don't have to wear them all the time, which totally
defeats the purpose of telling someone first that they
need hardcore glasses, full time. Yo whateva.
I still have to go back to get some frames, I'm esciiited.

Tonight my family's going to Irish Night
and I'm staying home to paint and read and things.
Oh, that's another thing, I'm still not finished with
Elliott Smith and the Big Nothing. You know, just
another one of those promises I made to myself
that I didn't follow through with. Oh well.
Yeah so, planning on completely finishing
that painting I've been working on forever, tonight.
I finished my magazine bowl as well, just need some
glue that dries clear and I'll be set. I allllso finished
my tea mug from ceramics and I'm pretty pleased
with how it came out. I should've done at least one
more coat of the glaze I chose, but it's okay, it still
looks pretty cute. Pin asked me to make her a giraffe
in ceramics, and I'm looking forward to making that.
We got more clay friday since we had run out, so I
suppose I'll start working on that next week.
I ALSO finished my Boo sculpture in class friday.
You know Boo, from Super Mario? Him. And he's
made out of a sand block since we didn't have any
clay, which I already mentioned. I think after Pin's
giraffe I might make Mario and Luigi figurine thingys.
I think that would be pretty sick.

I also alllllso have a good amount of video ideas in store,
so I'm working on that as well! So many projects my god.
Better than none at all, right?

Okay. I'm off to get all these things done
instead of writing about them.
Go outside! It's pretty out.

Ironic

I came home from school,
ate some fudge ripple ice cream because
I haven't had ice cream in forever
and just wanted some,
and then napped til 6.
I had the strangest dream.
Then I listened to a lot of
Michael Jackson
after watching crabstickz
latest video and found it
utterly ironic that it would be
'Michael Jackson songs night'
on American Idol tonight.
I was just doing some algebra
while listening to Dirty Diana,
went out to the living room
to ask my mom if she thought
35 miles per hour was an
appropriate rate for thoroughbred
horses to be racing at,
and saw a girl singing Dirty Diana
on the television.
Then I made tea for my dad and I.
I think I'm going to start wearing my hair wavy more often.
Goodnight!

Little Debbie

If I were to have a complete and utter wtf moment this weekend, it would have been this.

I hate the news.

I've been keeping up to date with it lately.
It's so frustrating to watch.
I've come to realize that the forced smiles
on the news anchors' faces irritates me
more than I originally thought it did.
Reports on drug deal after drug deal
after the same updates on that teacher
who allegedly kidnapped a student of hers,
who John Basile knew personally, I guess.
Another shooting, another stabbing, another fire.
I even got to see an old teacher of mine cry
on the news tonight. It was saddening.
All this is followed by a bleach whitened gleam of teeth
exclaiming that today was "such a nice day, wasn't it?"
And on with the weather.

Maybe it's just something about the local news that I don't like.
I like BBC. It's just as depressing, if not more so since it covers global events but. I don't know. I find it more interesting. Less personal, or something.
Which is also, (que scoff) sad, since it just goes to show how disconnected I am or feel that I am, from the rest of this planet, and its loss, and its suffering.
Man. This is heavy stuff. I'm going to stop now.

I missed The Office tonight, I was pissed.

03/02/09

Another snow day today.
My dad says we'll be in school
through July if this weather keeps up.
I'm almost done with my current painting
and have already started my next. I am so very excited.
I've made it my goal to finish reading
Elliott Smith and the Big Nothing
by the end of this week.
We'll see how that goes.
I was so ready
to give Brianna
her present today.
I'm pretty proud of it, I must say.
I really like itunes 8.0 or whatever it's called.
I've been pretty occupied getting all that album artwork.
It seems like I can't enjoy the music without the album artwork

to accompany it now. Like it's not complete or something.

Up there is a photograph I took of
this cactus my dad brought home weirdly one day,
and it's been living in our kitchen for quite some time now.
That's the moon in the background.
My mom really likes this picture.
She says I should enter it in some contest, any contest,
I don't know what she's talking about.
I love her.

Have a nice night,
I know I am.
